IIS 7.5 on Windows 2008 periodically hangs and resets all connections under load

Hi,

?

We have IIS running on Windows 2008 R2. At specific heavy periods we are experiencing a situation in which IIS appears to hang. All open processes are terminated and no new ones can be opened. The freeze period lasts about 2 minutes.

?

We have been using Performance Monitor. When IIS hangs W3SVC_W3WP\(_Total)Active Requests parameter shoots up for the time period. Below is a screen shot of the performance monitor log.

?

The counter W3SVC_W3WP\(_Total)Active Requests at this point read as follows:

Average 227.500
Minimum: 220.000
Maximum: 235.000

?

I would appreciate any help to fix this problem.

?

Regards,
Alan
