The Village of Flossmoor proclaimed June 15 as South Suburban Humane Society Day at its June 3, meeting.
Everybody give a high paw to South Suburban Humane Society.Forty years after it opened its doors, the organization was recognized for its efforts in helping animals and promoting pet care, with a day named in its honor.
At its?June 3 meeting, Mayor Paul Braun and the Flossmoor Village Board?proclaimed June 15 as ?South Suburban Humane Society Day? in the village.?The proclamation was read into the minutes during the board?s meeting, which in part read:??Whereas, the South Suburban Humane Society is dedicated to the care and protection of all animals and the prevention of animal cruelty and suffering, and;?Whereas, the South Suburban Humane Society provides a safe haven for lost, injured, homeless and abandoned animals in our community and surrounding area."?
The mayor ended the proclamation by encouraging residents to adopt a pet of their choice.
